Yes, it's a common practice. A lot of BBs have accelerated recruiting, i.e. GS and MS in December. There are a lot of kids with offers before the holidays. As standard OCR and recruiting comes along, people receive offers as the superdays occur, so if there are 4 superdays in February, each superday will have a few kids with immediate offers. There are fewer and fewer spots as the season progresses.
