Does anybody have any info on Rothschild Energy & Power team? I’ve seen a few threads but content has been limited and outdated. Curious to learn any insights on culture, comp, deal flow and reputation.

Have worked across from them a lot. Would not say the best for what is a very technical sector.
Best in that space is MS, Barclays, JPM etc
Rothschild don’t compete on the best mandates in that space but still a good brand. You could use the platform to get into a bank after 1/2 years that is more reputable in this area

in Europe for deal value, they came 2nd under just citi for total value of E&P M&A deals between 2018-2020.
a very significant share of that number comes from their Italian office - very very strong in Energy and would say that they work almost on every deal (either as a sell side or as a buyside). Probably they do UK coverage from London
You can do Oil and gas and Power/renewables. Very strong/best in class in North Sea and Gulf asset transactions in both segments, with a large amount of mandates in North Sea Offshore Wind for example. Also top notch in Nuclear (a bit o a niche). Normally will not have a lot of exposure to large ticket buy side corporate / public M&A, but might secure some sell sides and shareholder advice in those segments - A lot of large Continental Europe deals are however run from Paris, with london more focused in UK / North Sea / CEE and Arabic Gulf. Good team if you want to do infra/energy deals in the future for example
