Rutberg & Co, how bad is it really there?

Since I know that I cannot get in at a BB because of where I attend school, I wanted to know how bad is this place? I know a couple people there and they won't tell me shit about the place. If you think I am making a dumbass decision then tell help me out by dropping some names of some other places that I have a chance at.

I guess I'll summarize each post for you

1-Anyone know about Rut? 2-I'm only aware of their tombstones/press coverage 3-The bank is small and only exist for 3 years. They specializes on wireless and digital media on private companies. There is a link between their research and IB division. 4-I'm interviewing Friday anyone know anything else? 5-They are focused on wireless 6-how was interview? 7-went well 8-Had a last round interview, interviewed with CEO for 10 mins. During interview was yelling at me. "I guess they need to hire 2 analyst this year and around 5-6 in early next year as they will expand into digital media. " 9-Very low job security 10-what other boutiques are there? 11-libra 12-Environment: 100 hour work weeks, sundays off, litter bureacracy, whole company is 20 people, so lots of responsibility, have to work in all areas(HR etc) 13-swim or get out 14-do they ask tech questions? 15-analyst or intern? 16-intern 17-for analyst not technical 18-ok 19-did you interview for analyst? 20-"I would not recommend working here due to 1. Poor office environment (crappy office with no infrastructure) 2. A violent MD (constantly harasses employees both emotionally and physically and he break office equipment) 3. Little training. " 21-physical harassment? 22-"one of the MDs is a complete nut and likes to throw stuff at the junior members of the banking team (i.e. staplers, water and whatever he can get his hands on) " 23-"That place is a sweatshop. They also pay their analysts way below street. In terms of internships. They are not that selective (though they do screen) they try to get as many interns for a low price. You are much better off getting a real internship at a BB bank where they pay you street $/HR. " 24-Unique culture(sports) 25-its cool if you like deals under 10 mm 26-"unique culture", bullshit... that's if you call harrassment and lack of morals "culture." + the pay is horrible

cliffs: It sucks

LodoThey seem to be riding the digital media consolidation wave for now. Once things slow down a little, they are toast. Besides, their largest deal is a mere $60m. You do the math.

That is an interesting comment. How can they be riding the digital media consolidation wave now when they have not even done any transactions in that area?!

...interned there a couple of years ago...definitely sweatshop mentality...don't pay well at all for full-time, and i think they barely pay the interns these days...unless you're desparate or a college sophomore looking for resume material, avoid this shop....
