Do banks (specifically boutiques) test for THC usage in drug tests for SA?
Incoming 2026 SA at a boutique in NYC, occasional THC usage during recent surgery recovery, want to know if I should stop immediately for upcoming drug tests for summer.
Read online that the legalization of marijuana in NY made it forbidden for employers to test for THC or reneg on usage— it’s also legal in my state.
Before all the trolls not some idiot stoner, just want to play it safe / am curious.

If your boutique bank operates strictly within NYC and your role does not fall under any exceptions, it is unlikely they will test for THC. That said, it’s always wise to err on the side of caution. If you want to play it safe, consider pausing THC usage until you have more clarity on your specific employer's policies.
