SA Barclays IBD London vs. SA JP Morgan IBD London

Hi guys,

I've got an offer for SA Barclays IBD London and for SA JPM IBD London. What are your thoughts about these banks? What about industry trends, offer rates, shape of the IBD at both banks? I've got a special interest for Financial Institutions Group. What about these group at both banks?

Thanks!

FIG at JPM London is absolutely brutal. Are you white-British? If so you will probably be put into Cazenove which is a world apart culturally from the EMEA team. PM me if you want to discuss in private.

Are the london offices segregated like that; white, middle eastern, asian, etc? Is it due to british whites being able to work with british whites better, people of emea origin working better those people, etc? I'm an American so it sounds weird to me, but I have been considering working abroad post MBA

Not exactly like that but if you're the stereotypical white, British guy then there is an extremely high chance you will be put into their Cazenove team which is also full of stereotypical white British guys. Everyone else goes to EMEA usually.

Offer rates at JPM have been pretty bad recently, something like 15%.
