They give you 2 months notice from what I heard from my friend who worked in GS ER.
Does anyone know if they test for steroids? Or just the basic recreational drugs? I am not on steroids by PH's which sometimes come up positive
I doubt it. Steroid tests are really expensive to administer

I had to get my drug test within 24 hours of signing the offer.

Usually. (From my experience, they are taken right after signing the offer letter or right before the internship starts.)
what happens to false positives? I was looking on google and most tests say they are 98% accurate...that's not awefully accurate!! Do the false positives get screwed?
Deal with that 2% chance when it happens to you. Usually you go to a lab testing center like LabCorp. They send you a form, you pee in a cup, and they send the results to your employer. I think I had to have mine done within a week of signing my offer for SA.
How much advance warning do you get for these tests? Would I know if I were going to have one soon?
I had 24 hours to get it done. Including scheduling.
They sent me to LabCorp, was pretty easy. If you haven't taken any drugs you have nothing to worry about.
My bank we need to do it within 48 hours of first day I believe. Went through Quest.

How would you know whether you are going to be tested (and when/where)? Would it be in your contract?

I'm not asking because I will fail the test, I'm just curious about how I'm supposed to know if I have to go and get tested. Isn't in the contract
Yeah, got sent to Labcorp. We have to have ours done within 2 weeks of signing our offer letter.
Ok, but how are you supposed to know whether you're even going to be drug tested? Should it be in the contract? If so, do you just go to a local place?
I got sent to LabCorp too... had 3 days to do it... In and out in less than 15 minutes. Schedule an appointment, saves alot of time.
I don't recall seeing it in my contract. HR just sent me an email for the drug testing together with the employee application after I accepted my offer
What if youre out of town or something when they send the application?

I was wondering how likely it is that I will get drug tested for an internship in finance given that its my first internship? - note that the internship is in another city and starts june 8th (I might get an offer tomorrow)

It is likely. Why don't you just stop doing drugs and start working out with heavy cardio today? By the time they test you everything will be out of your system unless you are super fat.
The only exception is a hair test which is rare in finance but if it happens, Laundry Detergent, Acne Body Wash, and Apple Cider Vinegar twice a day for your hair. They are the strongest cleaning agents and can clean your hair within four days.
