SA Housing (Downtown)

Hey all,

I know it's pretty early to be thinking about it, but I'd like to get some recommendations for summer housing for my IB SA downtown next summer. I know FiDi is unrealistically expensive, but I really don't want to do dorm housing. What do you guys recommend? Is it a bad idea to consider Jersey City or Brooklyn since it's just a hop and skip?

Thanks guys.

The one obvious benefit of living across the river in Jersey is not having to pay NYC income tax. Since that's a non-factor for a summer internship I don't think it's worth the commute and having to structure your social life around crossing the river. Brooklyn isn't a crazy option depending on what your hours look like and where your office is, but you'll likely end up paying a premium for a short-term rental. At the end of the day the traditional Manhattan dorm housing options are the best options for many interns unless you happen to have friends or family living in the area with extra rooms to spare-any particular reason you're trying to avoid them?
