Salary Predictions - 5 Years
What does everyone think the average total compensation (salary+bonus) in 5 years for analysts, associates, VPs, and MDs at bulge bracket firms in 5 years time?
Shouldnt the lack of activity in the economy plus government regulation sharply decrease pay in the future?
For me, ibanking was a way to eventually get into the hedge fund/ private equity industry and the pay was an added bonus. However, with a sharply lower salary, Im not sure if the long hours are worth it.
1- Most people on this board are 18-21 year old college students.
2- The minority of people on this board work in industry.
3- Out of that minority, MAYBE 3 or 4 people are above the analyst/associate level.... meaning they themselves have been out of school for maybe 3 years.
4- NO ONE AT ANY LEVEL knows if they will even have a job in 5 months, let alone what they expect to earn in 5 years.
To fully understand how completely meaningless any answer or comments to this question will be... ask yourself these questions:
In 1995 if someone said what will your typical analyst, assoc, VP, and MD make in 2000, how close would that have been to what they would have actually made in 2000?
In 2000 if someone said what will your typical analyst, assoc, VP, and MD make in 2005, how close would that have been to what they would have actually made in 2005?
In 2005 if someone said what will your typical analyst, assoc, VP, and MD make in 2009, how close would that have been to what they would have actually made in 2009?
