San Francisco vs Menlo Park

Do people who work in Menlo Park tend to live/hang out in SF (China Town, FiDi, North/South beach), or are the two completely separate?

I live and work in SF proper currently and would say it's usually not common to work in Menlo Park and live in SF because the commute is so rough, especially as a banker. Most bankers who work in MP just live in MP and avoid having to commute. Nowadays though with COVID and all, I think it's somewhat changed and is more common to live in SF and work in MP.

tldr; I would just recommend living in Menlo Park and getting a car, will make your life easier. You can always travel up to SF on the weekends.
