Scared to ask my firm about my start date with COVID - how to frame question

I am set to start at a MM IB shop mid summer for full time work. In light of everything going on and what I have heard from people on here, I want to email them to make sure my start date is not in jeporady. I want make sure it is still on, but don't want to preceive this as an option for them to push me back.

Any suggestions?

Just ask. Listen, they chose you for a reason. Them hiring you doesn’t only benefit you but some how, it benefits them. They wouldn’t intentionally throw money away if that wasn’t the case. Just reach out to HR and ask. Whatever discussion they have is up to the managers and executive and I’m sure the discussion of keeping you or not would have came up regardless whether you ask them or not.

A medium to large sized MM with a training program will just send you back a canned response that they're monitoring the situation. If they haven't said anything publicly, they won't reveal it to you just because you ask. It's frankly too early to determine what will be going on by midsummer. Sit tight for now

If you're at a smaller MM where you're one of 1-3 starting analysts, reaching out may be helpful
