Dude are you serious? The guy is probably busy as can be and totally forgot he had a call with you. It has happened to me at least 20 times. Hell, I had a department head canceled lunch 6 times before we finally got it. One time, he had to fly out at the last minute and didn't email to cancel till his secretary called after I waited at his club for an hour. Email him back he probably just forgot
Yeah he definitely just forgot to call you. Things come up. You're at the bottom of his priority list, get over yourself and send him a follow-up
Also, this isn't a true "asshole" story. If this counts, then I have hundreds of asshole stories - I.e. random people whose emails I scavenged from deep in the interweb not returning my emails asking for an interview. A real asshole story needs to involve some form of true asshole-ism, not a simple lack of courtesy.
Calling an alum who is willing to talk and even asked for your resume an "asshole" is definitely not the best thing to do - he could be busy. After all, you're the one who is asking for favor, not him.
Yeah definitely. I do still think he is most likely a cool guy but it just stinks lol. I don't expect responses when I cold-email but have had around a 50-60% response rate. If he doesn't respond to my next email I'm going to send soon I don't think I will contact him again for at least 1-3 months. Wouldn't want him to think that I am spamming him.

I mean it seems like he might just have overlooked it cause he was busy.. yknow how its like in the industry
Did you try following up with a confirmation email on the Monday itself? and I dont see any harm in returning an email asking to re-schedule

Yeah I think I'll email him later. As I said earlier I will not be surprised if this happens again. It was just odd on the 1st occurrence.
like everyone said, he probably just blanked out. people are busy.
.
Definitely would like to hear some funny asshole cold-email stories though. I think others would enjoy too.
Are you autistic or something?

Hope he's not on this forum- you described the situations well enough that he'd be able to recognize the cold emailer who's calling him an asshole now
I changed certain details for that reason and so what? I would beat the crap out of his "Fogle from superbad" physique if I ever met him in public.
I'd hate to see you get stood up for a date lol
Fucking seriously. This guy is dumb as rocks.
