second year Internship
Reading around I get the impression that, and correct me if I am wrong, if you go to a non target under graduate university and then go to a target uni to do a masters, you can then do an internship after your masters whether it be a off cycle or for a year.
My interest is finance and I dont think I will get an internship considering the uni I am at so if I want to do a masters at a top uni does it really matter if I dont do any internships in anything during my undergrad? because no other industry really floats my boat. Any advice as to what I can persue to bulk up my cv, will having no internships in any industry be a huge disadvantage?
My opinion is that internships are very vital. The more specific, the better and I don't see no reason that you should not land anything if you have a solid GPA/ECs and if you network like a ninja. There are a lot of boutique/regional places to try for and also, you could always do some accounting/auditing, as those are easier to get into and still much more relevant than doing nothing. Internship after masters is possible of course but I am no expert in this as I don't have knowledge of the US Masters programs.
And if you believe your UG school is so bad, isn't there a possibility to transfer to somewhere better or smth?
