Hello,
Quick question. I have looked for a complete list of the sectors that investment banking covers, and I have not been able to find a complete list. Just wondering if anyone here might have a list?

There is no ‘complete list,’ as each bank has different groups or calls them by different names. For instance Piper Jaffray has an Agriculture, clean technology, and renewables group - no other bank I’ve seen has that specific group. Also, note that the roles of groups differ among banks even with the same name. Ex. - Goldman doesn’t have an M&A group, but rather spreads those duties across coverage groups. Another ex. is the Financial Sponsors Group, which can be very different between banks or between the MM & BB levels.
Many banks have posted lists of their groups on their websites, and I’d recommend simply going to those sections. Here are some of the groups I can think of:
