Securitized Products Group Interview Question?
I have an interview coming up for an intern role at BB’s securitized product group. Would appreciate if anyone could chime in on how to be successful during it and or what technicals might be covered.
Thanks.
Search my comment history. You'll find some trolling but also some great advice regarding securitization.
Good info there.
If you had to ask some technical questions what would they look like? More specific to securitisation.
What is a "true sale", what's meant by "bankruptcy remoteness", why might a company choose to issue debt instead of equity. This is a Products role so more markets based technicals, not WACC EBITDA etc., questions. Although, this could come up ("how do you determine how much debt is too much") if you're going for a Project Finance desk.
These are the types of qs I've been asked for the same desk at another bank.
Generally, expect questions to be like what you'd find for DCM/ECM but for Securitization, if that makes sense? Commercial awareness etc.
Ah good, I feel pretty comfortable with answering these. But how would they approach a question on an MBS, CLO, auto abs etc.
I was never asked these apart from maybe what I understand an ABS to be. But if you know something about a particular asset class it doesn't hurt
Any thoughts on solar abs? definitely nuanced but seems like there'll be a huge market for it.
You'd probably find more in the US than EMEA but I think there are some interesting reports from S&P on the topic
