Seeking advice - Employed at a very large inter-dealer broker

I'm 28 and currently employed at a very large inter-dealer broker as an Engineer. (NYC)

I've been contemplating changing my career path to brokering\trading. I have a degree in Finance & Investments from CUNY Baruch.

How difficult would it be to transition to the finance side? I currently make 75k + bonus, would I be looking at a substantial pay cut? I have zero job experience in finance - but I do work very closely with voice and electronic brokering. Would pursuing a graduate degree work in my favor?

The IT life has proven to be rather dull. And I'm tired of working with introverted personalities.

Thanks
