My 'friend' recently left his BB and joined a boutique outside of NYC, mainly for a better lifestyle. At the junior levels, pay seems comparable to BB, maybe a 10-15k discount, which is more than made up by lower costs of living / less taxes.
My friend was wondering how the comp pans out at the higher level VP/MD levels at such regional boutiques. Is the spread huge compared to BB senior banker comp?
