Senior banker referral to recruiter vs. school team for IB first round?
I'm at a target school recruiting for Summer 2028 IB. For two of the bulge brackets I'm targeting, I haven't spoken with anyone on the specific school recruiting team yet, but I had my resume directly forwarded to the campus recruiter by an Executive Director at one firm and a VP at another.
How much does a senior referral to the campus recruiter help for securing a first-round slot, or are the school team alumni the gatekeepers regardless?
