Series 79 or 82?

Today I got an offer for an IB analyst position in West LA, They offered the series 82 or 79. My questions is:

If I can, can I take both?

Any books other than the ones made by "Exam Facts" (The firm has books, but I wanted to get a head start)?

Do other firms have any preferences in these?

Do not get Greco. They suck balls for the 79.

Also why the hell do you want to get the 82. I just asked my VP in the cubical next to me if he has the 82 and he just responded "what the hell is the 82?".

As for the 79... well let's just say you can't even get your business cards saying "Investment Banking Analyst" without the 79.
