Seven Figure Jobs?

Hey guys, I’m starting my journey in finance and was hoping to understand who the top earners are. I understand investment bankers get paid handsomely, but what other career paths/titles make 7 figures a year? I have a friend that works in consulting and he expects to be paid around 5 million a year by the time he’s 30 years old, but I have no idea what he would even be doing.

Could someone help list and define the highest paying jobs in finance and related fields (such as consulting or fund management) ? I want to start laying the foundation now

Don't trust your friend lol and don't chase the money as long as you are in finance you will get paid. Just focus on getting your first finance job first

I appreciate the sentiment! It would be nice to hear a few different options though. 😥

pretty much all careers on Wall Street can pay 7 figures at the top. Partner/MD/PM levels at reputable investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, asset managers will likely pull 7 figures, although it won't all be cash comp. Partners at BigLaw firms can also pull 7 figures. Seasoned software engineers at large tech companies do pretty well too-- but might take longer to get there on average compared to finance. Obviously, consulting is similar to finance in that Partners are making 7 figures, but unsure about the reality of your friend making 5 million before 30...sounds like bs.
