Interviewed an EB over a week ago. My peer is invited to the final round the end of this week. I am guessing it'll be a rejection for me or am I shortlisted in case other candidates drop out? Last year they had 4 different dates for the final round. Not very hopeful.

imo, that's a rejection. firms let you know right away if you made it to the final round, usually the same day as the prior interview. Now waiting for the offer or final decision (where I currently am at) is a whole other story. Could be today or could be two weeks from now. lol
Umm, with all my other first round experience, I got rejected straight away and normally within the same week or two weeks if I was going to be invited to the finals. Either way, not hopeful

Pretty annoying that they don't just reject me straight away. I don't see what they can gain from keeping me wait.
Well they also probably see what happens at the final round and keep a small list of some potentials, if the final rounds don’t go well.
Most firms/companies are going this way in terms of candidate selection/review.

Standard practice. If you don't hear back within 48hrs (during the week) then take the L and keep moving. Firms are more worried about the candidates they believe to be more qualified for the position. Don't get down about it though, take it on the chin and keep grinding.

I wish I could but I don't think I will have any more coming up this year now. Unless some of my AM applications come back post first round / application. I think IB recruitment is probably done for me. :/
