You guys should absolutely keep your powder dry. We were given the option to start full time in the summer or the following winter. The guys who chose January never started due to December layoffs. I started in July and luckily had a few months on the desk before we all got cut. Would have been a pain to recruit without any deals to talk about and a huge gap since the internship. Was super tough to find a seat as is.

Anyone heard anything about this? Troll? This was posted on litquidity

Would think you’d be crazy not to look around - the SNB HATES investment banking business and encouraged this merger - part of the deal has to include a massive downsizing of the IB along with significant reductions in VAR/trading activities - so would expect less IB revenue/focus and more on the higher margin, less risky wealth management business.

It’s crazy how fast the bottom can fall out from under you. One day you think you’re moving to New York and starting in IB in a month, the next day you realize you might not have a job out of college in the worst job market in a decade. Hoping for the best but I’m not feeling good about this at all…
