Should I do my Consulting Internship Remote or In-Person this Summer? (Doing IB SA next summer)

Hey everyone, I'm a rising junior doing a consulting internship at a Big 4 this summer with the option of working remote or in-person. I already have an EB SA locked down for next summer so I wanted to hear some thoughts on the which work modality I should choose. I'm leaning more towards the remote option that way I can spend more time with my family since next summer I won't have that opportunity in NYC in my IB SA stint. I live in NJ for context so it would be a 2 hour commute (round trip).

Is the in-person 5 days a week?

To be honest I'd probably do in-person, although I totally understand the appeal of remote. Remote work is really isolating for a new hire and you likely won't end up doing much work. People will inherently ask the intern within eyeshot before asking you whom they've never met. Even with EB SA locked down, in-person helps you get used to working in an office, learn corporate way of doing things, make connections - even if you don't want to do consulting, those are all valuable. 1 hour each way on NJ transit isn't too bad of a commute either if you can do like 3 days a week.
