Should I email the Senior MD of a firm (context given below)
Hi all,
I go to a semi target but a non-target for RX. yesterday, a very well known restructuring advisor came to speak in one of my classes. I briefly spoke with him 1 on 1 after on some questions I had and he was super insightful. My question is, is it worth sending an email asking for advice on recruiting? He is very very senior at his firm, and my professor said its worth a try but not sure any response or anything would come out of it.
It wouldn’t hurt. The worst thing he can do is not reply—go get em
No do not ask him to give you advice on recruiting. Ask him normal questions lmao. In fact, do not ask any seniors about “advice” on recruiting. You might ask at the end of the call when their process kicks off, but thats it.
Yes, obviously. Worst case is he'll just ghost

Worth a shot, would recommend asking him at the end of your call if there are any juniors you would recommend reaching out to - Then you can reach out to the an/as and go from there.
