If I interviewed with a firm whom I was introduced through a recruiter, should I send a thank you email at the end of the first round? I am keen on this company. Thanks for your input

Yes, there's a minimal downside but decent upside to thank you notes. It'll mean a lot to some and others will instantly delete it (no loss).
