Should I take the GMAT before beginning full-time at a BB?

I'm exploring options after investment banking (if I decide to leave) - I would appreciate some advice on if I should take my GMAT before beginning as an IB analyst at a BB. I'm not sure what doors an MBA (I would only attend a top-tier business school) after 2 years at a BB would open. I went to a non-target school for undergrad, just for reference.

If you're confident that business school is the route that you will want to take following your banking experience, yes. Better to bust your ass for a few months now than scrape together a half-assed study attempt when working full-time. Scores are good for 5 years.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Better to get some optionality where I can. Do you happen to know of what I could use the MBA for career-wise post-IB?

Yeah, I have a friend who is currently studying for his GMAT while doing PE and not enjoying it lol. Is it necessary to get an MBA 2 years through PE? Seems like my friend didn't think there was a lot of upward mobility in PE unless he got the MBA.

Yes, it is pretty necessary for some reason. Especially with a non target UG
