Skipping a few days during full time training?
Hello,
I will be starting full time training at a BB soon and was wondering how strict do they usually check attendance? I am doing another business on the side and might miss a few days to fly to other cities to meet with clients.
Has anyone missed a few days of training before?
Thanks,
This side business must be really important for you to be absent during a portion for the start of your "BB" training. If you just pull an Irish goodbye during training week I am guessing you will be fired. From any job, not just a "BB".
Are you seriously considering doing that?
why do BB when you have a nationwide side business?
never ever ever ever do this, it's extremely stupid and risky. if you're not fired for it, I'm shocked. do the classic 2 weeks notice for time off or whatever your firm requires, and make sure it's really worth it.
Go ahead - just know that there are tens of thousands who wish they were in your shoes with an offer from a BB
Thanks guys, Ok I won't, was just wondering
Despite what people have told you, no one really cares about training as long as you pass your series exams. If you're worried, just have one of your classmates sign in for you. Maybe our HR was just super lax, but that was my experience.
HR would tell me. I would care. If I found our you had a business on the side, no FT offer for you.
Actually, no FT offer even if you didn't tell me you had another business. Skipping training tells me you think you know better than us what you need to know. I don't want to have to deal with that arrogance
i was at GS/MS/JP and nobody ever noticed if you were or werent there. i skipped 2 days because i was apartment hunting one day and signing the lease / dealing with paperwork for the other. for the first day nobody noticed and for the second i just said i was sick and that was the end of it. that said youll need to gauge how strict (or not strict) your HR is.
If you've already been placed and you majored in finance, no need to stick around. I peaced out after lunch every day at training.
Focus on the things that matter... like bagging an HR chick
HR specifically said attendance is mandatory and you are not allowed to skip any days during training unless it is a family emergency or wedding or what not. Take it with a grain of salt though
Yeah, it's HR's job to make the unnecessary necessary. Best to just give them a little tap and say, "At least you tried."
