So sick of IB, where do I go next?
I'm at the ~2 year mark in a Tech M&A group and didn't recruit buyside on cycle at all because I didn't see the value and I don't regret it honestly, it just seems to be more of the same as IB.
Corp Dev seems fine but you might get pigeon holed, I think I want to trend towards ops long term; so I think strat finance for a tech company or a startup could be a good move. Would consulting be an option? Anything else?
I'm just tired of churning out slides and analyses following orders blindly tbh, I feel pretty unfulfilled now. I picked up some skills along the way and pay is good but ready for the next chapter now
Yeah you sound like someone who'd be very fulfilled by joining a startup in a strategic finance position/anything CFO track. Which I am sure you'd be a shoo-in for coming out of a tech IBD group.
How do you find startup roles? Really does sound exciting and something I want to try for, just not totally sure how/where to chase
Linkedin is great. I'd also like to think there are tech-focused HHs you could work with.
Can I PM you, I would love to get your perspective on the 2 years, am in a really similar situation
Same bro, have no idea what to do next
Voluptatum et ea animi quam quis. Ut nisi nesciunt ducimus assumenda sit minus corporis perferendis. Laborum qui eveniet ratione.
