not possible. they aren't going to make special arrangements for you
Not even special arrangements, but maybe a shortened second SA job? Like do 6 weeks at the second (instead of 10)? Not worth the trouble/potential downside, I assume?
No. it's a lot of work to train and ramp up a summer analyst, not to mention figuring out how they can fit into the team's workflows. they aren't going to just add someone in the middle of summer
So you are asking if you can do two IBD internships in two different cities during the same summer? Seems impossible, and I doubt either of the firms would take kindly to you asking to essentially cut the internship in half in order to work at another bank.
If you can somehow pull it off good for you. But this post really just seems like a way for you to "flex" the fact that you are a sophomore with offers from all kinds of banks.
.
if this is just sophomore summer it's not worth to renege at what sounds like a pretty solid boutique... just keep those contacts that are recruiting you to secure an internship for junior summer. no bank with a formal program will customize the dates or shorten the length of the internship beyond a week (max)
That is probably the safest bet. Thanks for the advice!
I would say stay with the boutique internship. Are you a diversity candidate (read the BB TMT & M&A teams in NY)?
