Sophomore BOUTIQUE SA 2021

Wanted to get a general thread going for anyone who is trying to intern at regional boutiques/LMM banks as a sophomore (non-diversity) this summer (or who has done this in the past) to share recruiting experiences or list banks that are sophomore-friendly. Obviously normal SA recruiting has been done for a while now, but I haven't seen a whole lot of info on WSO for these less structured processes. Also had a few questions:

How do I go about networking for these roles at this point in the year? Reach out to VP/MDs and ask explicitly about potential internship opportunities? or frame it more as a normal educational interview about firm culture/deals, etc? And once I get these people on the phone what's the best way to convert to an internship?

When do interviews and offers usually happen for these? Am I too late in the game? Ideally I would at least have "incoming sophomore IB analyst" on my resume by the time 2022 SA recruiting starts in the spring. Any insight would be appreciated
