Sophomore Closing Doors
I have an outstanding offer at a top BB (MS/JPM/GS) in MO role in NYC. Should I take it and try to leverage for a FO next year or would this raise a red flag in recruiting next year? Any insight on mobility for interns within the same bank is appreciated. Offer blows up soon.
What other options do you have?
None. This will expire before I can line anything up.
what division exactly? as a sophomore I think you should go for it - at worst its a backup for next year. No one will look down on a sophomore who worked at a bb (especially if you illustrate ib interest throuhg other ways like clubs/comps).
Sounds like JPM. I know a fair amount going from JPM middle office to JPM front office from sophomore to junior year summer.
First off, congrats on the offer. Since you're a sophomore, I think having the top BB on your resume would definitely help for next year even if the internship isn't FO. Wouldn't really say that it would be a red flag for next year - especially if you do well during the internship. There really is no overlap between FO and MO in terms of the work and the people you will be working with, so mobility might be very limited. Do you have any other places that you're waiting on?
