Career Resources
Been a couple years now but I was getting $25 / hr working ~50 hrs a week during my soph summer at a LMM PE shop in the midwest.
is it ridiculous to ask for more? Also looking to put up like 70-80hrs a week
I mean you can ask for as much as you want but I would dial expectations back for a 10 person shop. The last thing you want to do is piss them off before you hit the desk. 25-30 an hour working 70 hours a week is phenomenal money for a rising junior in college.
Any tips for finding these gigs? Also am a incoming junior working at a BB in NY next summer. Way more bored than I thought I would be this summer, so am looking for work.
Google / Google Maps -> "Private Equity / Investment Banks in XXX (Your area) -> go to their linkedin -> find alumni from your school or really anyone to email -> set up coffee with them.
Pretty late to be trying to get something for this current summer though tbh. Still Possible however
Unrelated, but do you have any tips for SA recruiting for incoming sophomores?
From thanksgiving sophomore fall until you land an offer do nothing besides recruit and school
Are there any resources for hard technicals? Feels like banks don't even ask anything in the 400Q guide anymore and won't ask relatively direct questions like "what is deferred revenue?"
Congrats on Ducera
Got $27/hr at LMM IB in NYC but working hybrid. Smaller team (5-10) but put in 50-70hrs weekly
