Sophomore summer... besides IBD?

Sophomore at a non-target (T50) trying to get into banking. 3.9+ GPA & currently doing a school-year-long BB PWM internship a couple days a week. After talking to some of the regional MM firms I am not too optimistic about landing a IBD gig for this coming summer (firms are looking for juniors). Not sure what my best options are to go for if I don't get MM IBD. I don't want PWM again, but I don't know what I should be looking for.

Look at boutiques. BB and MM IBD requires a ton of networking to even be considered. Boutiques are more open and more flexible, especially for underclassmen. Asian banks and lesser-known European banks are worth a shot also. Not as stringent as BB's and MM's about their intern hiring.

Find some alumni from your school who might help out, even if they're in BO or MO roles. It's better than nothing.

yeap same as blackjack21 -> I would say networking with lower MM banks kinda works. and Asian offices of BBs it works too if your exceptional. I got lucky and interviewed with some BBs in Asia sophomore year. I think just networking is the key for anyone in your shoes.
