Sports / team atmosphere in finance

Hi

Incoming analyst here. Really excited to start working, but as a lifelong athlete I’ve always felt like team spirit & camaraderie are among the most fulfilling experiences a human can have. Going to war, competing, winning and celebrating - I’m really going to miss these aspects of my sports career once I’m done. Is there any replications of this feeling in any way shape or form in finance / the corporate world broadly?

Bump.

I would also love to know to what extent an IB analyst can aspire to get some physical activity. I understand that It will not be possible to train as uni students can do, but I would aim to go for a run at least some times x week

That might be slightly diff than what OP meant, but I’m with ya - I feel like hitting the gym 2-3x a week on average should hopefully be doable most weeks (?) cuz like Friday after work and Saturday / Sunday. May also get a random day here or there on weekdays but I don’t plan to count on those. Obv group and dealflow dependent but fingers crossed
