STEM major at one of the COVID 19 Vaccine companies trying to switch to IB

I graduated from a top 50 school in the US summa cum laude in ChemE and then went to an Ivy for my MS in biotech engineering. I started working at one of the Covid vaccine companies as a temporary research associate 4 months ago until I find something better (ends in December). I absolutely hate working in the lab/ am nothing like the people who work in this environment/ way more sociable and team oriented (my gut instinct thought this would happen but I followed what my parents expected me to do/they think finance is soulless). I made a bunch of friends at my MS program who work in IB and would vouch for me but I'm worried about switching without getting caught in the post-MBA IB trap. I applied to off-cycle internships and am thinking of targeting smaller PE firms before applying again to off-cycle IB internships. Any advice helps!

Additionally, while applying to MS programs I took the GRE and scored a Q168/170. Any MBA people would you think I have enough credentials to just apply to MBA and hope for making the jump to PE or VC from IB?

Any advice helps! Thanks
