Stifel Toronto
Anyone have any ideas on Stifel's culture in Toronto? Currently a second year analyst at a boutique in Toronto, trying to lateral. Also, would anyone happen to know anything about pay?

(To clarify, the following is in reference to GMP not Stifel) It's not bad, but it's not as good since it was acquired. Used to be an absolute beast - heard most of the prior folks either left / were laid off
Agree. "GMP" in their prime was a monster. Most of the original GMP guys have moved on after many iterations of the company.... GMP, Richardson GMP, Stifel GMP. I would just refer to it as Stifel tho. The GMP core is long gone.
Last year was apparently a very rough year for them speaking strictly on deal flow. Their bonus is now structured as a forgivable loan so if you leave or get fired you have to pay some of it back. They’re one of the worst (noticeable) MM in the US well below Jeffries, BMO and here they are no better. By no means is it a terrible place but from what I’ve heard things are looking really rough for them right now, and that’s probably why someone left for there.
Street level base for Toronto, long hours.
