Stifel vs. KBW

If you had the choice to go to either for SA (NYC) without the specific goal of going into FIG, which would you pick? In other words, KBW might pigeonhole you more because it's FIG only, but as I understand it it is regarded better than Stifel. Which would offer better lateral opportunities to MM?

From the general sentiment I’ve gathered, I would say KBW by a long shot. KBW is a top player in the FIG space. Sure they don't complete w some of the BBs like GS and JPM but they are definitely more well regarded than Stifel. All that said, it is FIG.

A couple of anecdotes: a KBW analyst lateraled to GS a little while ago and a friend that works there told me that he's been reached out to by a couple HHs for lateral positions at other top BBs/EBs.
