Still being cockblocked by low UG GPA in my Target Master

Guys, I´ve had it. Yes, I made a few mistakes during Bachelors, it was not an easy time mentally. But that is in the past. I crushed the GMAT, got into a T15 MSc (worldwide, mind you), had my fair share of reputable employers, so what is the fucking problem, potential internship firms? Why do you insist on some arbitrary bullshit like 2:1/3.5 if you don´t even know me? Do I really have to slide into every damn MDs LinkedIn until I get an inivtation? FFS guys, this is really pissing me off and I´m losing all motivation to proceed here.

What am I supposed to do, just keep on sending those applications? Pls advise ok thx

What do you mean by top 15? Which tier of schools? The financial times rankings are meaningless and include plenty of non targets in the top 15. If you’re at one of those, that could be your problem

Alright, then if you’re not at HEC (if you’re French), Bocconi (if you’re Italian), IE (if you’re Spanish), or St Gallen (if you’re Swiss/German), that’s part of your problem. The other schools aren’t targeted (ESSEC/ESCP only are for the grande école-prépa track), so you have to network a lot more aggressively to make up for your school.

But then, even if you are, right now is a complicated time because of the crisis and getting internships is a lot more competitive. You might want to try for boutiques to further build your experience.

Does that mean that even if you are at a European target like let's say HEC Paris, you are still at a disadvantage for banking in London if you do not belong to the country?

I wouldn’t say HEC students are at a disadvantage per se. Obviously, UK targets are preferred to HEC but banks still target HEC/Bocconi students because they know that they can find quality talent there
