Structured Finance Energy to PE

I got an energy structured finance analyst position starting next September and I would like to know if there were exit opportunities in PE funds or corporate finance in oil majors after 2 or 3 years.

I am also considering S&T (I prefer sales) and I got a summer summer internship coming with a 2nd tier bank (think BNP, Nomura, RBS ...) but I'd rather to structured finance for several reasons (people, pace, deals ...).

What are your view in general about structured finance compared to investment banking?
