Struggles of a lateral hire

I am a lateral hire in IB that is two months on the job. I lateraled from big 4 TAS after 1.5 years there. Technically I am a second-year analyst, but my responsibilities make me feel more like a first year. I am getting staffed on easy deals whereas all the other analysts are getting staffed on more complex stuff. My hours are also less than my peers. Is this common for laterals, and when will I start to see my work pick up in complexity? I haven't received any complaints so far and feel as if I am doing pretty well at this job.

sounds pretty normal to take a few months to get up to speed

any advice on lateralling? what type of firm are you at?

So basically you came in from a different industry with a different skillset as a 2nd year (which was very nice of them to do), you're going through a normal ramp-up process and the team is giving you easy stuff, presumably if you do well then you'll move up, and you're complaining? Do the easy stuff well. If you've been doing a good job for a few months talk to your staffer and ask for more complex stuff. Just communicate
