Suited assessment in the UK

I did the suited assessment a year ago and I assume my score (which is permanent) wasn’t great given I’ve been rejected from houlihan lokey twice post submitting my score.

They list a few partner firms that use their assessment but I’m not sure if all of these use it in the UK as a friend at one of their “partner firms” said they didn’t have to do it for them.

I’m not too keen on making a new account as they said they store your data for a year even if you delete their account so don’t want to get banned for making a new account and make my chances literally zero for firms that use them.

Any info would be helpful as this blunder may cut me off for a lot of decent MM firms.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems that the Suited assessment is a common hurdle in the UK recruitment process, particularly for firms like Houlihan Lokey and other middle-market (MM) firms. However, there are a few key points to consider:

  1. Partner Firms and Usage Variability: While Suited lists partner firms, not all of them may use the assessment universally across all regions or roles. Your friend's experience suggests that some firms may bypass the assessment for certain candidates or positions. It’s worth reaching out to current employees or alumni at specific firms to confirm whether the Suited assessment is mandatory for the roles you're targeting.

  2. Score Permanence and Account Concerns: Suited does store your data for a year, and creating a new account could indeed risk being flagged or banned. If your score is a concern, focus on firms that either don’t use Suited or have alternative evaluation methods. Networking and referrals can also help bypass initial screening hurdles.

  3. Impact on MM Firms: Many MM firms, including Houlihan Lokey, place significant emphasis on behavioral and cultural fit, as well as technical skills. If Suited assessments are a barrier, consider strengthening other aspects of your application, such as networking, interview preparation, and showcasing relevant experience.

  4. Next Steps: If you’re concerned about being cut off from opportunities, prioritize firms where Suited isn’t a requirement or where you can leverage personal connections to mitigate the impact of your score. Additionally, consider reaching out to Suited directly to inquire about retaking the assessment or improving your profile.

This situation highlights the importance of preparation and strategy in navigating the UK recruitment process, which can be more unpredictable compared to the US.

I get that but I it’s happened to me twice that I’ve been invited to take the test for houlihan after an initial cv screen, but when my suited score connects to the application I get rejected.
