summer 2007 internship search

Hi, I'm a junior at a target school looking to do either ibd or s&t this upcoming summer. Our recruiting process is borderline ridiculous (hundreds of people applied to each position at every BB). How do I differentiate myself in the application or interview? Does anyone have any advice or tips on the recruitment process or lessons they've learned? For the veterans, how have you managed your careers since you started on Wall Street? Thanks so much!

That's your answer. It all comes down to what kind of repo you build with various recruiting teams. Do a bunch of informational interviews. Follow up regularly with people at various banks for advice. Make sure recruiting teams know that you are interested in their bank (and why) and that you have spoken to 2-3 people in their Bank. If you can get 1 person from a recruiting team to vouch for you, you will get interviews.
