Summer 2011 laterals
Is anyone here a first years at boutique trying to do a lateral after your first year do a better/bigger firm? If so, what's your progress on this? I have begun reaching out to recruiters and friends at other banks but don't plan to leave until I get a full year of experience.
Anyone have success stories moving from small boutique to larger firm in the past or ideas?

1st year MM, looking to lateral. Had an interview with bigger MM didn't pan out, have a BB interview soon.
Are 1st years already talking to recruiters about 2nd year lateral positions? It seems like 4 months in advance is too much for recruiters.

So there are banks giving out offers to current first years that start in the summer or start immediately, or both?
I suppose there's no harm in reaching out to a recruiter now, but I think it'd be better to leave with 11-12 months of experience as it could look bad on my resume to leave after 8 months.
Do bulge brackets hire headhunters for 2nd year analyst positions or do headhunters mainly do boutiques/MM?
