Summer Associate Recruiting at INSEAD

Hi all,

I'm trying to understand how IBD MBA recruiting works outside of one's home country. I'm British but looking to pursue an MBA at INSEAD's SG campus starting in Jan 21, hopefully landing an SA gig over the summer break.

I would love to work in Singapore or elsewhere in APAC, but not clear whether banks are typically willing to hire/sponsor foreign nationals. Back up would be to try and recruit for UK based roles whilst studying in SG. Has anyone faced a similar situation or have any relevant insight?

A little context on my background: British, but began in strategy consulting in mainland China (no connection to the country, just ended up there after university out of curiosity) >> strategy at boutique firm in London >> strategy for major US film studio. Have some decent contacts in IBD through my current role and have always wanted to try my hand it.
