Summer intern no staffing

Hey, I’m interning in a very active group at bb. Is it normal to have a downtime? I haven’t got any requests from my team today and I’m worried that they just disliked my work / me. What concerns me is that other interns are staffed now.

Dude I’ve been on one deal and 2 scrapped processes this shit genuinely fucking sucks. Scared my review will suffer because of my lack of work. Nothing but good things said in what I’ve actually been able to do but idk.

Congrats on UBS. Don't worry, the bank doesn't actually close any live deals. It's all pitches and M&A mandates that other banks all turned down.

Put yourselves in a more senior persons shoes (analyst / associate / vp). If you’re getting truly smoked… it’s really hard to justify giving work to an intern because 1) it takes a longer time than you think to write up quality / no ambiguity instructions, 2) the intern (no offense - we were all there) takes about 35 years 7 months and 1.5 days to finish, and 3) have it all be messed up  and have to redo it yourself anyways. I wouldn’t take it personally, if anything look at the work product after it’s done, maybe ask some questions about why it was done the way it was done, ask about process dynamics, etc.
