Summer Research VS Non-finance internship

Hi, I am an international student from Asia and currently a freshman at a target school. I talked to a professor in one department (not Finance), and she offered me an opportunity to be a research assistant (part time/ full time) over the next summer. However, I'm also applying for internship at a tech company for project management / data analyst as well. I wonder which path I should choose that will benefit me more for applying for the internship at IB and also consulting in sophomore and junior. Thank you so much!
