Superday timeline

Had a superday on Thursday for an analyst position at a smaller sized firm in the afternoon. I think I’m the only candidate right now but I know they have other interest too. When do you think I should hear back? I’m kinda leaning towards it’s bad news if they haven’t gotten back to me yet. Let me know your thoughts especially those at smaller firms.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, after a superday, the timeline for hearing back can vary. It's not uncommon for the process to take a bit of time. The interviewers often need to discuss among themselves and reach a consensus, which can take a while especially if they're also juggling their regular work responsibilities.

The delay between the superday and the call back can be due to the fact that the interviewing can take up a good portion of the banker's day, and they need time to catch up on emails/work. Hence, the roundtable meeting/call often doesn't take place till later afternoon.

If you haven't heard back yet, it doesn't necessarily mean it's bad news. It could just mean they're still in the process of making their decision. If it's been a while, it might be worth sending a polite follow-up email to express your continued interest in the position and to ask about the timeline for decisions.

Remember, patience is key in these situations. Good luck!

Maybe follow up after a week? I'm still waiting from my SD 3.5weeks ago so it could be worse haha.
