Switch into IB? - Career Advice

Any insight or advice would be appreciated. I’m currently in my 2nd year as an analyst at a well-known Pe co-investment platform. The pay has been solid and WLB typically pretty good as well but am looking to more of a direct investing role. I’ve interviewed with a handful of LMM growth equity, tech small buyout, and private credit firms and 1-2 MM firms, which are definitely less receptive to people with my background compared to LMM but have still gotten a small number of interviews. I was just wondering if I would be able to recruit into a BB or MM IB with 2 years of experience already or would I have to get an MBA and recruit as an associate? I think I could definitely land in a smaller buy side role from where I am now, but know that I wouldn’t have any shot at some of the more well-known MM and MF shops or even at any HF/long-only shops.
