Switch offices without switching groups. Is it possible?

Curious to hear if anyone has personally achieved this or heard of someone doing so. I like my group and am not looking for a new job, but have realized over the past couple of years that I would much rather be somewhere else geographically. Would be looking to move from one major city to another (ie NYC to SF, LA, Chi etc.). I feel like work from home may have made seniors more open to letting me do something like this as they can now trust me to deliver a solid work product remotely. Would likely be looking to make the move as an associate. Any relevant experience or advice any of you have with this would be appreciated.

Thx

Hi, would you be able to shed more light on which bank this is? also, what do you mean by its made possible only because of remote work? because now most banks are asking people to return to office sooooo are they asked to return to their original office as well? and for the analysts, could I know when they switched office locations? was it like after a year in their analyst program or even before the 1 year mark?
