Switching Groups/ Location before FT

Hi everyone, I accepted a full-time offer after my SA role at a smaller boutique bank focused on one industry, but I am interested in a different sub-industry group. The return offer is within a specific sub-industry.

An opening in a different sub-industry group, located in a different city, got posted and is more aligned with my interests. I obviously do not want to come off as if I'm reneging internally or burn any bridges, but I would be interested in the other opening.

Also, my return-offer class was small, so I'm assuming my group is expecting me and may need me to return to their group specifically.

Has anyone been in a similar position where they explored a different group and location after accepting a return offer but before starting full-time? If so, how do I go about exploring that option if it is possible to do so?
