Switching to IB after SA in S&T?

I am curious to know how possible it will be to lateral to investment banking after I complete my SA program this summer at a top BB in S&T. Becoming concerned with the lack of exit opps in S&T and want to build a long term career in finance.

Edit: Do not go to a Target, so OCR opps will be limited.

Quick LI search tells me yes, it's possible, and there's more than a handful. also knew about 3-4 people who did this in my class. Is it likely? with your background you should be able to get an offer if you tried, but FT recruiting is still tough and you'd still be risking a sure thing (assuming you get return offer) unless you're interviewing over the summer

Worked at an Exchange last summer and am interning at a BB this summer. Not exactly the same situation you're in, but similar idea. I got asked a lot of questions about why IB over trading so be prepared for those. Definitely a doable transition.

What is the best way to go about transferring internally? If that is not an option, how should I balance networking for FT while my internship is still going on?
